In 1840 when Morris Angel founded the company that we know today. Morris started dealing in second-hand clothing and tailors samples from Saville Row. The shop became popular with actors, who at that time had to purchase their own costume for performances. Eventually the actors began to request the loan of costumes for the length of the play and this is where costume rental was born.
